alter ego 2007

Steven Spurrier, Decanter. Tasting in April 2008
Deep velvety colour. lovely Merlot nose showing spicy blackberry fruit, already smooth with blended, suave tannins and lovely length, a strikingly attractive wine.

Mid crimson. Light, lively super-brisk nose. Very round and easy and lovely already - pure airline stuff. Great texture. Great balance - just very slightly astringent on the finish but a gentle little thing. More freshness on the nose than the Ch Palmer itself. Very light but lively.
Neal Martin, erobertparker.com. Tasting in April 2008
This has a very attractive nose with ripe, bright black fruits laced with a little mocha and espresso. The palate is medium-bodied with very fine grainy tannins. Good acidity, a nice savoury aspect to the wine this year with nice build towards a dense finish with touches of roasted herbs. It does not have the length of a great Alter Ego, but it certainly has the delineation and the breeding. Very crisp on the dry masculine finish.
Alan Duran, Periodic Review of Bordeaux Wine. Tasting in April 2008
The opaque ruby-purple hued Alter Ego offers cherry, mineral, and sweet raspberry aromas, in addition to a medium-body, wonderful freshness, and a balanced finish. The suppleness, and open-knit makes for a more approachable wine.
Izak Litwar, www.greatbordeauxwines.com. Tasting in April 2008
This wine provided very delicate, round and extremely charming drinking.
