VINEYARD AND CHAI
Jacques Dupin, Vineyard Manager
With an agricultural background in the Loire Valley's Touraine region, Jacques Dupin
decided early on to devote himself to wine, obtaining his BTS (advanced vocational diploma)
in viticulture and oenology from the Lycée Viticole in Blanquefort, near Bordeaux. After
travelling and working abroad, he returned to the Bordeaux region, where he worked for
13 years as the technical manager for a Cru Bourgeois in Saint-Laurent du Médoc. He
chose to move on to a position at Château Palmer in 2001.
Michel Lavigne, Cellar Master
Michel Lavigne, from Pauillac in the Médoc, was trained in viticulture and winemaking.
His first job was supervising cellar work and the bottling line of a 38-hectare Médoc
vineyard, where he stayed for 10 years.
He joined the Château Palmer team in 2001 with a position as cellar master in charge of the vinification and ageing operations. Young and dynamic, his profile is fully in line
with Palmer's desire to move forward.
