Time in the vineyard, time in the chai, time in the bottle
Alter Ego's time is not the same as Château Palmer's. With Alter Ego we were out to create a wine of desire. And desire has trouble waiting! An Alter Ego vintage can be enjoyed two or three years after bottling, when it explodes in a bouquet of aromas and flavors. But it can also be put away in the cellar and made to wait a dozen years or so. At that point, your desire will be even greater and there will be surprises in store. From fiery, it will have become deep and ripe, as is the case for the first Alter Ego vintage, from 1998, which has reached fullness. In ageing Alter Ego reveals a different nuance still of the Palmer style.
